Letters to A Girl

Writing to you is a search for justice.

Compulsions to remove everything that reminds me of you

The warm feeling those things have always given me

Words to match your own

Words that are more than today’s truth

Writing to you is a love affair

Against our sensibilities

In secret, delivered by storks

To touch your face

To bite the hand that adores you

Writing to you is war

Our innocents crush upon each other

Do we deserve one another?

Again and again, my belligerent heart

Demands a relief

Writing to you is a dream

Is this what Love is made of?

Are my words a script?

Is there a way to keep dreaming?

For the last time, for a long, long time…
